David Corey’s story is not so uncommon here at the Northwest Woodworking Studio. By day, David works in a heavily technology-based field. He decided that he needed to do something he could really get his hands on–something physical and tactile. He began work on his own from home using Mission style furniture designs he found in books and magazine and while he felt the pieces were good, he wanted to develop his design skills and get some formal training. He came to the Studio to do just that. Quickly, his work took on new life as he got a handle on techniques and design concept and let his creativity flow.
